As a seedstock producer- we always keep the commercial cattleman in mind when we choose our matings. We focus on efficiency, maximizing weaning weights, and maintaining high reproductive rates.
The key is to ensure profitability for the cattleman. Angus and SimAngus cattle are in high demand for marbled beef, excellent maternal traits, and feed efficiency. We based our cowherd on Angus females and still raise purebred Angus cattle for obvious reasons.
However, over the course of thirty years we have also discovered that our SimAngus cattle have added so much value in muscle, rapid growth and enhanced profitablility.
The females have the same mothering ability and milk production as our purebred Angus cattle. We have always focused on calving ease and our cattle have proven they can lay down and calve on their own and raise a high quality calf.
